Jajpur: The mutilated body of a youth was recovered near Talajanga panchayat office under Jenapur police station limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Gopabandhu Sethi (26), a JCB driver.
The incident came to the light after some locals found the body lying in a pool of blood. Upon receiving information, police visited the spot.
Tension was palpable in the area after irate locals staged a road blockade with the body demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
The blockade was lifted after police assured agitators that the accused will be nabbed soon.
The body was taken to the hospital for post-mortem.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Sethi had enmity with some people over stone crushing in Talajanga village, police said.
