Bhubaneswar: The police have arrested a YouTuber for allegedly harassing a woman in her channel from Odisha’s Balasore district.
As per the complaint filed at Cyber police station of the Commissionerate of Police in Bhubaneswar, the YouTuber, identified as Umashankar Panigrahi of Satabdi Nagar in Baramunda of Bhubaneswar, was running a channel named PTC Odisha (Panigrahi tele-media communication).
Umashankar was not only stalking the complainant but also harassing and bullying her on the social media platform. He published a video of the woman with an obscene poetry and defamed her social and political image. He also subsequently used vulgar language and threatening words when she raised her protest against the post.
Following investigation into the complaint, Cyber police arrested Umashankar from his house in Balasore and forwarded him to the court on Monday. Further investigation is going on.
