Vizag: YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy suffered minor injuries in a knife attack at the Visakhapatnam airport on Thursday.
The police have identified the attacker as Janipalli Srinivasa Rao (30), a chef in Fusion Foods Restaurant at the airport. The attacker was taken into custody by airport security and handed over to police.
Reddy, who received a cut on his arm, was provided first aid at the airport lounge.
The attacker allegedly entered the VIP lounge and approached Reddy, requesting for a selfie. He struck him with a knife, apparently used in bird fights, while pretending to take the picture.

Condemning the attack, Civil Aviation minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted, “we will punish the guilty.Investigations are underway, started immediately.”
