Mumbai: Yuzvendra Chahal had attracted attention when he wore a T-Shirt — with ‘Be Your Own Sugar Daddy’ printed on it — in court during the hearing of his divorce case with Dhanashree Verma.
During his recent appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Chahal disclosed why he wore that T-shirt.
“Meko nahi karna tha drama (I didn’t want any drama), I just wanted to give one message and mai ne vo de diya (and I have given out that message),” he said.
Asked about the bold slogan, Chahal laughed and said, “Kyunki saamne se kuch cheej hua tha, aur mera pehle mann nahi tha. Fir saamne se kuch hua toh fir mai ne kaaha ab sambhaal lo ab mujhe nahi parwah kisi ki. Mai ne na kisi ko abuse kra, bus mujhe message dena tha (something happened from the other side, otherwise I had no intent of doing so. When the person on the other side did something to provoke me, I too didn’t care for anyone. I didn’t abuse anyone. I just wanted to give a clear message).
Opening up about the financial settlement during the divorce procedure, Chahal admitted, “I had signed a good deal.” He added that it helped him move on from the marriage without giving it a second thought.
Chahal also admitted that both Dhanashree and he were faking about their marriage in public and trying to conceal their strained relationship.
Asked if he ever thought that the relationship could have worked out, Chahal said, “I gave my 100 percent,” hinting that he had no regrets after the divorce.
