Bhubaneswar: More than 1.03 crore beneficiaries are set to receive the fifth instalment of financial assistance under the ambitious Subhadra Yojana in Odisha on Friday coinciding with Rakhi Purnima.
According to officials, a total of 1,03,26,162 beneficiaries will receive Subhadra assistance in the upcoming disbursement to be held in Nayagad. Of them, at least 2,21,054 eligible beneficiaries will receive the money for the first time.
Ahead of the 5th disbursement, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said beneficiaries of the scheme who missed previous instalments will receive the pending assistance money together. These first-time applicants, who had applied before the cut off date, will get the Subhadra money together, if found eligible.
In cases where a beneficiary is found eligible after the verification process, all five instalments may be credited together to the bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), said Parida, who also holds Women and Child Development portfolio.
On the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, more than Rs 5,160 crore will be transferred to the beneficiaries directly into the bank accounts of these beneficiaries through DBT.
The officials and bank representatives concerned had earlier been asked to complete the DBT process within the stipulated timeline, strengthen banking arrangements, and take all necessary steps to ensure that beneficiaries face no inconvenience during the disbursement
