1 Killed, 2 Critical As Rival Groups Clash In Odisha’s Balangir
Balangir: One person was killed and two others sustained critical injuries after two groups entered into a violent clash at Malgodownpada area of Odisha’s Balangir on Tuesday.
According to preliminary information, the violent incident took place at Malgodownpada late on Monday between two rival groups over past enmity. Swords, sticks and other weapons were reportedly used by the rival groups.
While one person, identified as Niraj Harpal, died in the incident, two others have been admitted to hospital in a critical condition for treatment.
The two injured were initially admitted to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir. One of them, Mukesh Harpal, was later shifted to VIMSAR in Burla as his condition deteriorated.
A team of police personnel visited the site and initiated a probe. Steps were taken to prevent further flare up in the area where tension prevailed after the clash.
As per reports, Neeraj who had been arrested earlier was released from jail on bail a few days ago. Further details are awaited.
