10 Police Personnel From Odisha’s Kalahandi Test Positive For COVID-19

Kalahandi: Ten more police personnel from Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi district tested positive for coronavirus on Friday.

According to official sources, the swab samples of the police personnel were sent earlier for tests and the report confirmed coronavirus positive for 10 personnel.

Among the 10 police officials, five are from reserve police, three from police station in Bhawanipatna, one each from Sadar station and IRB Battalion.

Following this, the district administration declared shutdown on Saturday and Sunday. The collector Gavali Parag Harshad asked people to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

Moreover, a massive door-to-door survey will be done on the weekends in Bhawanipatna municipality. As many as 22 senior officials have also been deployed for supervision.

The collector asked people to cooperate with the survey team and not to hide the symptoms.

With 82 recoveries, the Kalahandi district now has 28 active cases.
