Bhubaneswar: Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo on Wednesday informed the Odisha Assembly that 1007 teaching and 1660 non-teaching posts are lying vacant in different universities in the state.
Replying to a question of the BJD member Amar Prasad Satpathy, the Minister said the highest of 188 posts are lying vacant in Ravenshaw University followed by Utkal University (126), Rajendra University (126), Kalahandi University (112), Rama Devi Women’s University (101), Berhampur University (80) and North Odisha University (76).
The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has begun the selection of eligible teachers for their recruitment against the vacant posts, he added.
