Bhubaneswar: Eleven students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Odisha have qualified in Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE) Mains Phase–I with Avish Alam, a day scholar of the institute’s Karanjia branch, emerging as the top performer with 97.5 NTA percentile.
EMRS Lahunipara led with the highest number with five successful candidates: Estiphan Hembram, Pujarani Kisan, Deepa Kisan, Rabin Oram, and Salkhu Hembram, followed by EMRS Ranki with three qualifiers: Rinkirani Naik, Sunil Kumar Naik, and Sunia Hembram. EMRS Karanjia also saw Samu Paleya qualifying for the exam while Thakur Murmu was the lone candidate from EMRS Bhangriposi to make it to the list.
An official release said that the results highlighted a strong and competitive academic performance across EMRS institutions in the state. “The success is expected to inspire many more students from tribal communities to aim for premier engineering institutions in the country,” it added.
