Bhubaneswar: Kandhamal district in Odisha continued to shiver for the second consecutive day with the mercury plummeting to 5.4 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri followed by Phulbani and Similiguda in Koraput at 7.5 degree Celsius each, India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.
With a coldwave sweeping the state, 11 places recorded a night temperature of 10 degree Celsius and below.

Similiguda (Koraput): 7.5°C
Koraput: 8°C
Keonjhar: 8.4°C
Sundargarh: 9°C
Kirei: 9°C
Jharsuguda: 9.6°C

Chiplima (Sambalpur): 10°C
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 13.6 degree Celsius and 13.4 degree Celsius respectively.

According to IMD, there will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 4-5 days. Cold winds from North India and a change in the wind pattern have influenced the drop in temperature.
