Saintala: Ministers have a heart too. Titilagarh MLA and Women & Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu proved it on Tuesday when she not only rescued a woman but also took her to the hospital in her vehicle, got her admitted there and ensured better treatment for her.
Subash Jal and his wife Sanju Jal (28) from Luhurenapali village under Deogaon block in Bolangir district were on a two-wheeler to Mayamunda village to attend a wedding. Somehow, Sanju fell from the vehicle and sustained injuries.
Tukuni Sahu, who was heading towards Gudbhela block on the same road, saw this happening and took Sahu to Saintala Community Health Centre in her car. The minister asked doctors to shift her to Bhimobhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir, if required, saying the government would bear the cost of her treatment.
Meanwhile, Sanju is out of danger.
