Mumbai: A charge sheet filed in the fake ratings case by the Mumbai Police on Tuesday named a Republic TV official, Ghanshyam Singh among the 12 accused.
While seven of the accused are out on bail, former employees of Hansa Research, the agency involved in assessing channel ratings, and two more channels accused of manipulating ratings are among the accused, said media reports.
Among the 140 witnesses listed in the document are forensic auditors and members of the Broadcast Audience Research Council, which assesses TRPs by monitoring select households, NDTV reported.
The charge sheet includes analytical data submitted by BARC and statements of witnesses, advertisers and advertising agencies.
The Mumbai Police filed a First Information Report on October 6 and started its investigations based on a complaint filed by an official of Hansa Research, Nitin Deokar, the report added.
