12 Odisha Fire Service Personnel Test COVID-19 Positive After Returning From Bengal

Bhubaneswar: A total of 12 Odisha Fire Service personnel, who had recently returned from West Bengal, have tested positive for COVID-19.

As many as 372 firefighters were sent to the neighbouring state for Cyclone Amphan restoration work.

Confirmed the news, Fire Service DG Satyajit Mohanty on Tuesday tweeted that the Odisha government had ensured best possible medical care for them.

This apart, 50 NDRF personnel on the same assignment have also tested positive for the virus.

While one NDRF jawan had tested positive on June 6, the other 49 are among the 146 new cases detected in the last 24 hours in Odisha.
