Balangir: A special train carrying about 1200 migrant Odia workers from Maharashtra arrived at Titlagarh railway station in Balangir district at 1 pm on Sunday.
The migrant workers of Ganjam district, who had come in the train, were were taken out of the railway station soon after the train arrived> later, they were sent to their respective destinations in buses after thermal screening and registration.
Among others, COVID-19 observer for Balangir district, Sushil Lohani, district collector Arindam Dakua, SP Madkar Sandeep Sampat and senior district officials were present at the railway station.
Talking to the media, the Balangir collector said as the migrant workers belong to 28 districts, buses have been arranged to take them to their home districts.
As a preventive measure, the local administration had imposed Section 144 in Titlagarh from Sunday morning.
