136 COVID Deaths In One Week; 8-Year-Old Among 22 New Casulaties In Odisha; 7 From Khurda

Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 toll in Odisha mounted to 8,711 with 22 more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed by the Health Department on Saturday.

Among the fatalities is an 8-year-old from Sonepur district and an 18-year-old girl from Nayagarh district. Khurda reported the highest of seven deaths (including four from Bhubaneswar), followed by three each from Sundargarh and Cuttack and two from Keonjhar.

Details of the deceased:

1.A 69 years old Female of Balasore district who was also suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus.

2.A 73 years old Male of Bhubaneswar.

3.A 44 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Chronic Kidney Disease.

4.A 55 years old Male of Bhubaneswar.

5.A 73 years old Female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Cerebro Vascular Accident.

6.A 90 years old Male of Boudh district who was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

7.A 60 years old Female of Cuttack district.

8.A 68 years old Male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Asthma, Hypertension.

9.A 67 years old Female of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

10.A 46 years old Female of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease.

11.A 56 years old Male of Jagatsinghpur district who was also suffering from Hypertension, Coronary Artery Disease, Metastatic Aden carcinoma Left Lung with Intratracheal Mass.

12.A 96 years old Male of Khurda district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

13.A 80 years old Male of Khurda district.

14.A 58 years old Female of Khurda district who was also suffering from Cerebro Vascular Accident with Left Hemiparesis & Hypertension.

15.A 70 years old Female of Keonjhra district.

16.A 40 years old Female of Keonjhra district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

17.A 18 years old Female of Nayagarh district who was also suffering from Hypertension, Coronary Artery Disease, Metastatic Aden carcinoma Left Lung With Intratracheal Mass.

18.A 55 years old Female of Nabarangapur district.

19.A 8 years old Female of Sonepur district who was also suffering from Seizure Disorder.

20.A 76 years old Male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Dementia.

21.A 28 years old Female of Sundargarh district.

22.A 52 years old Male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Cervical fracture.

The third wave has so far claimed the lives of 13 children with a three-day-old being the youngest victim.

Notably, the state had reported 23 deaths, the highest reported during the third wave so far, on Friday. However, the details of the patients were not shared on the official handle of the department and this was also the case on Thursday when 18 casualties were reported. Odisha had seen 19 casualties on Wednesday and among them were three children aged 4, 14 and 15 years and  17 on Tuesday (February 1).

After reporting fatalities in single digits till Thursday (January 27) and none the following day, the state reported 10 deaths on January 28 and another 15 on January 29. The COVID tally was 19 on January 30 and 18 on January 31.

Odisha had reported a total of 147 COVID deaths in January.
