Bhubaneswar: A total of 14 contingents will take part in the state-level Republic Day parade in Bhubaneswar, Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay informed on Sunday.
The DGP told this to the media after witnessing the final rehearsal.
Abhay said due to the COVID-19 pandemic, school students will miss out the state-level parade this year.
On the security measure, he said 25 platoons of force will be deployed along Gandhi Marg.
The DGP also called on Maoists to abjure violence and join the mainstream. “Violence has no place in a democracy,” he pointed out.
