Bhubaneswar: The COVID tally in Odisha capital touched 274 on Friday with 16 new cases being detected in the city in the last 24 hours.
Fourteen are local contact cases and nine among them are employees of a private hospital. A 47-year-old man near Jharpada jail and a 50-year-old woman of Abiram Basti in Sundarpada have also tested positive for the virus. A 60-year-old man from Old Town is among those infected. Besides, two men from Baramunda contracted the infection from a previous patient, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation tweet said.
The home quarantine cases include a 35-year-old man of Jadupur with travel history to Kolkata and a 21-year-old woman from Delta Colony, Unit-8, with travel history to Vijayawada.
Meanwhile, 11 more patients have recovered from the infection in the city.
With three deaths and 138 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 132 active cases.
