Hyderabad: Agastya Jaiswal, a 14-year-old boy in the city, has claimed himself to be the first student in India to have graduated at the young age, news agency ANI reported.

Agastya has completed his BA in Mass Communication and Journalism from Osmania University, which recently published its results.

“I have become the first boy in India to complete BA at the age of just 14 years. At 11 years of age, I was also the first boy in Telangana to pass the intermediate exam with 63 per cent,” the teenager was quoted as saying by ANI.

Agastya credited his parents, Ashwini Kumar Jaiswal and Bhagyalakshmi Jaiswal, for his achievements. “My parents are my teachers. With their support, I have been overcoming challenges to prove that nothing is impossible. I want to become a doctor and so I will pursue MBBS,” he said.

Besides his academic credentials, Agastya is also a national-level table tennis player. “I can type the alphabets A to Z in just 1.72 seconds. I can tell multiplication tables up to 100. I can write with both hands,” he added.

The boy’s father said every child has a special quality. “If parents pay personal attention towards their kids, every child can create history,” he added.
