Cuttack Rural Police have made elaborate arrangements ensuring seamless traffic flow and effective crowd management for lakhs of devotees thronging the sacred Dhabaleswar Pitha during Badaosha, Panchaka and Kartika Purnima–2025. Every measure is being taken for making the holy celebration peaceful & safe for all.
Cuttack: With a large number of devotees from across Odisha visiting Baba Dhabaleswar Temple in Cuttack district during sacred Panchuka Brata, elaborate arrangements have been made at the revered Shiva shrine for smooth darshan.
In order to ensure a smooth and secure experience for devotees, the district administration and Cuttack Rural Police have made elaborate arrangements in and around Dhabaleswar Peeth.
A senior police official said that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure seamless traffic flow and effective crowd management for lakhs of devotees thronging the sacred shrine during Panchuka Brata, Bada Osha and Kartika Purnima.
Parking facilities are being made be available at three designated areas, and traffic posts set up at 14 locations to manage the flow of vehicles.
Two-wheelers will be directed from Nuapatna Chhak to Paikarapur stand, while four-wheelers will be parked in Vidyadharpur and Dhabaleswar Fandi areas, with access via NH 55 from Bali Chhak to Suniamuha road.
Arrangements have been made for the deployment of 15 platoons of police force to maintain law and order, with over 200 police personnel, including 2 Additional SPs, 8 DSPs, and 20 IICs, on duty to ensure security. CCTV cameras have been installed at 32 strategic locations to monitor the premises, and ODRAF and Fire Service teams are also being deployed as a precautionary measure.
A mock drill was conducted by Cuttack Rural SP to review the preparedness and ensure a peaceful celebration.
Meanwhile, a large number of devotees visited the temple to witness the Chandrachuda Besha of Lord Dhabaleswar on Sunday on during Panchuka period in the Kartika month.
Rituals at the temple began at approximately 4 am with the Dwara Phita Niti, followed by customary procedures culminating in the deity’s ceremonial dressing. The temple premises were filled with devotees eager to seek blessings during the early morning darshan.
The Panchuka period, observed during the last five days of Kartika, holds deep spiritual significance for Lord Shiva devotees.
