150 people under CB lens for promoting disharmony in Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar/ Bhadrak: The State Crime Branch has identified at least 150 people who allegedly created disharmony and law and order situation in Bhadrak by misusing the social media, special DG, crime branch, B K
Sharma said on Tuesday.

“During investigation by the seven-member team of the Crime Branch’s cyber cell, it came to light that some organisations are involved in circulating objectionable posts about Hindu deities on social media that sparked tension in Bhadrak town,” Sharma said.

Revenue divisional commissioner (central) A B Ota said all educational institutions, banks and government in Bhadrak offices remained open after curfew was relaxed for nine hours (from 7 am to 2 pm). Keeping in view the peaceful situation, the curfew relaxation period was extended by two hours.

Requesting the media not to use provocative words while reporting on Bhadrak incident, Ota said, “It has been decided to keep media away from the peace committee meetings to be convened soon. The outcome of the meetings will be shared with the media after the discussion.“
