Berhampur: Nearly 1500 Surat returnees on Friday alighted at Chattrapur railway station in Ganjam district after pulling the alarm chain of a train heading towards Balasore.
The incident took place at around 6 pm.
On being informed, the Ganjam administration officials rushed to the station and made arrangements to send the migrant workers to their native places by buses. Soon, these returnees will be lodged at quarantine centres as per state government’s guidelines.
