Cuttack: The COVID-19 tally in the Millenium City touched 4777 on Sunday with an overnight addition of 206 positive cases.
The city has seen 1559 new cases with the biggest spike of 310 on August 24 and four deaths due to COVID-19 in the last seven days.
While positive cases crossed 300 on two days (310 – August 24 and 302 – August 27), the number was over 200 on as many days (216 with two deaths- Augst 26 and 204 – August 28). The city had reported 196 cases and two deaths on August 29 and 125 cases on August 25.
According to Cuttack Municipal Corporation, 87 among the 206 found infected in the last 24 hours are local contact cases. While 43 are institutional quarantine and 57 home quarantine cases, 22 are from containment zone Nimba Sahi in Chauliaganj.
Nine more in the isolation ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital here have contracted the virus, while another five are COVID warriors.
The CMC also informed about 95 more patients recovering from the infection.
With 26 deaths and 2813 recoveries, Cuttack city now has 1938 active cases.
