Balasore: An injured 16ft-long king cobra was rescued near Kalijhati village of Balasore district on Thursday.
Residents spotted the king cobra hissing out loudly in pain and informed forest department officials. A forest officials’ team led by wildlife warden Prakash Mardaraj arrived and rescued the reptile and administered it necessary treatment at the Nilagiri veterinary hospital. After treatment, it was released into the Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary.
