Bhubaneswar: The remaining 64 of the 250 Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) in the state will become functional from June 17 this year.
This was revealed during a review meeting of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sanghathan (OAVS) chaired by School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash here on Tuesday.
Classroom teaching for Class VI students in the 64 OAVs will start on June 17 and a target has been set to complete construction of these OAVs by November 2023, said an official at the meeting.
Construction of hostels for students of all OAVs too is scheduled to be completed by the same deadline. It was also decided to fill up the 1749 vacancies for better management of these schools by June end this year, the official informed.
Among others, Principal Secretary, SME department Bishnupada Sethi; Project Director, OAVS Premchand Choudhary and other senior officials attended the meeting.
