Rourkela: The curtains came down on the 17th Inter-School Science Exhibition-2019 on Saturday, organised at the Ispat English Medium School, Sector-20. The event was inaugurated on Saturday by CEO of Rourkela Steel Plant Dipak Chattaraj.
The theme for this year’s exhibition was ‘Science and Technology for Sustainable Development.’ In all, 25 schools from in and around Rourkela participated in the event. Around 520 students presented 260 projects under three categories. In the junior group, comprising students from Class V to VII, 102 projects were presented whereas in the senior group, comprising students of Classes VIII to X, 126 projects were displayed. Similarly, in the Plus-Two group, there were 32 exhibits, said a release.
The participants showcased their scientific acumen through a number of innovative projects based on Li-Fi (Light Fidelity) technology, resource management, agriculture and organic farming, health and cleanliness, transport and communication, digital and technological solutions, waste management and mathematical modelling. Chattaraj took a keen interest in the exhibits and interacted with the students about their projects, the release added.
