Puri: Eighteen personnel of two police stations in Odisha’s Puri district were sent to home quarantine on Wednesday.
Puri SP Umashankar Dash told the media that 11 constables of Kanas police station and seven of Gadishagoda police station were asked to undergo home quarantine as they had come in contact with COVID-19 positive cases.
Kanas police had arrested a person on charges of vehicle theft four days ago while the Gadishagoda police had recently arrested an accused in connection with a chain snatching case. As the two accused later tested positive for COVID-19, 18 policemen of these two police stations, who had come in physical contact with them, have been sent to home quarantine, the SP said.
“The swabs of these 18 policemen will be sent for test,” he said, adding that the two police stations have been completely sanitized.
