Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) won big at the inaugural CII Sports Business Awards 2023.
The Bhubaneswar-based KIIT was honoured with the ‘Best Sports Facility’ award for creating top-notch sports facilities.
KIIT & KISS Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta received the award from Chanakya Chaudhry, Chairman, CII National Committee on Sports.
BCCI secretary and ACC president Jay Shah was recognised as Best Sports Business Leader.
Dr Samanta and Reliance Foundation Chairperson & Founder Nita Ambani were recognised as Sports Business Leaders for their exceptional leadership in sports business.
Royal Challengers Bangalore received the Sports Franchise of the Year award, while Tamil Nadu was adjudged Best State for promoting sports.
The jury comprised of eminent personalities like Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, Commissioner to South Asia, Victoria state govt Michelle Wade, Abhishek Binaykia (Partner, Transformation, Head of Technology Centre of Excellence and Head of Sports Advisory, Grant Thornton Bharat), Nic Coward (Expert Partner, Portas Consulting) and Aahna Mehotra (Partner TMT Law Practice).
