Berhampur: A biker and the pillion rider were killed after being run over by a sand-laden dumper on Dharakote-Mundamarai road in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Thursday.
The deceased youths have been identified as Rinku Nayak and Rahul Nayak, native of Nuagad village of Soroda area in the district. They were around 25-27 years old.
According to sources, the accident took when the biker attempted to overtake the truck but lost balance with another vehicle, approaching from opposite direction. They fell under wheels of the truck and died on the spot.
Dharakote police have sent the bodies for postmortem and further investigation is underway.
