Bhubaneswar: A training programme on ‘Grid Connected Roof Top Solar System’ was conducted at the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here on October 28 and 29.
The programme, organised by Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), is the foundation for successful implementation of the Central government’s ‘PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana’.
Aimed at making the nation self-reliant and self-sufficient in energy production, the flagship initiative looks to achieve India’s goal of promoting green energy and ensuring sustainable power generation from solar energy.
The National Power Training Institute (NPTI) was the training partner for this programme in Odisha Distcoms as nominated by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Held at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), SOA’s faculty of engineering and technology, the programme’s content was curated to equip the Distcom employees with essential technical skills and knowledge for the installation of rooftop solar system and its connection with Grids under applicable regulatory framework.
The workshop was inaugurated in the presence of ITER Dean (Student Affairs) Prof. Renu Sharma, Senior General Manager (HR) and Head L & D, Odisha Distcoms Budhish Kumar Behera and NPTI Durgapur’s Deputy Director Motilal Senapati.
