2 Elephant Carcasses Found In Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary In Odisha’s Angul
Angul: Decomposed carcasses of two elephants were recovered from Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary in Angul district of Odisha on Tuesday.
The carcasses were found in the forest near Jagannathpur village in the district. Some locals spotted the jumbo bodies and informed the forest officials, sources said.
On getting information, forest officials visited the spot and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances in which the two animals had died.
While the jumbos were suspected to have died after coming in contact with live electric wire, efforts are on to ascertain the exact reason. The animals were stated to have been electrocuted around four days ago. The forest officials and medical team are examining the carcasses. Further details are awaited.
