Bhubaneswar: In separate tragic incidents, two job aspirants lost their lives while participating in physical test conducted by the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC).
The incidents were reported from Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts, official sources said. The physical test was being conducted for the recruitment of Forest Guards, Foresters, and Livestock Inspectors
The deceased were identified Byomakesh Nayak of Keonjhar as Prabin Kumar Panda from Rourkela in Sundargarh.
Expressing grief over the tragic incidents, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced ex-gratia assistance of Rs four lakh each for the kin of the deceased. The money would be released from the CM’s Relief Fund, an official statement said.
As per information, Prabin had applied for the posts of Forest Guard and Forester. During the 25 km run from Bhabanipur to Baragada, Prabin collapsed near Kirei under the Sadar police limits. He was immediately rescued and taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
