Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast two back-to-back low pressure in the Bay of Bengal soon after cyclone ‘Nivar’, which is expected to make landfall on Tamil Nadu coast on Wednesday midnight.
According to Regional Met Centre of IMD, here, another depression is most likely to form in southeast Bay of Bengal on November 29. It will intensify into a deep depression on November 30 and cross coastal areas of Tamil Nadu as a cyclonic storm on December 2.
Another low pressure is also likely to form over the south Bay of Bengal on December 10, informed meteorologist Surendranath Pashupalak.
Meanwhile, the Met office has forecast rainfall at many parts of Odisha on the impact of cyclone ‘Nivar’ in the next 48 hours. A few spells of rainfall in southern districts of Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur and Raigarh are expected in next 48 hours.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into deep sea and warning has been issued in four ports.
