Koraput: Two tourists were injured when their SUV fell 150 feet down from a hilly road in Odisha’s Koraput district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the two tourists, identified as Parjit Das and Sunendu Sahu, both from Balasore, were going to visit the waterfall at Duduma in Koraput district. They were on an adventurous trip as they wanted to drive the SUV all the way from Balasore to Duduma.
As they were going on a ghat road and approaching the waterfall, the SUV skidded off the road and plunged 150 ft down into a gorge. Both Parjit and Sunendu sustained critical injuries in the mishap while the vehicle was badly damaged.
The local people rescued the two tourists and rushed them to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Ankadeli. Later, they were shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Jeypore.
