Jajpur: Two officials of Alakunda Police Station in Odisha’s Jajpur district were transferred after they allegedly entered into a physical confrontation and unruly behaviour over the preparation of a chargesheet on Thursday.
Taking a tough view of the incident, the district Superintendent of Police (SP) ordered the immediate transfer of IIC Debashis Satpathy and ASI Prakash Singh to the district headquarters.
Sources said the action came after reports confirmed that both officials were engaged in a heated argument that escalated into a physical clash while preparing a case chargesheet.
A probe is being conducted into the incident by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO). The SP said that further disciplinary action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
As the inquiry progresses, the department aims to restore discipline and ensure such incidents do not undermine public trust in the policing system.
