20-Day-Old Baby Among 5 Injured in Fire Mishap In Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapara: Five members of a family including a 20-day-old baby sustained critical burn injuries in a fire mishap in the district on Thursday night.

As per reports, the incident took place at Girang village under Marshaghai police limits when the villagers were asleep. As the fire had engulfed the entire house before it was noticed, they entered by breaking the skylight and rescued the family.

The injured were rushed to Kendrapara hospital and later, shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.

Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that someone intentionally set the house on fire as all the doors were locked from outside.
