Mumbai: The endless uncertainty over the Champions Trophy is finally over as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a hybrid model for the tournament to be held in February-March 2025, reported India Today.
Pakistan will remain hosts of the ODI meet, while India’s games will be staged in Dubai.
As Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had proposed as a pre-condition to agreeing to a hybrid model after Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made it clear its team will not travel across the border, both boards reached a consensus on the next ICC tournament. The understanding is that Pakistan won’t travel to India for the 2026 T20 World Cup, and the league-stage clash between the two teams will be held in Colombo.
The PCB won’t receive any financial compensation for not being able to host India’s matches.
2025 CHAMPIONS TROPHY FORMULA

* Champions Trophy scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025
* Eight teams divided into two groups, top two from each group will advance to semifinals.
The schedule for the tournament is expected to be released by ICC by this weekend.
