Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha mounted to 6859 on Monday with 245 more cases being detected in the last 24 hours. With 23 coronavirus-related deaths and 4743 recoveries, the state now has 2086 active cases.
A chuck of these cases is in six hotspot districts – Ganjam (463), Khurda (234), Cuttack (121), Jajpur (135), Jagatsinghpur (112) and Gajapati (302). These districts comprise 65 per cent of the total active cases in Odisha, according to data available on the Health Department website.
Meanwhile, Ganjam continues to lead the COVID19 tally in Odisha with 1367 cases with 76 more patients being detected in the last 24 hours, followed by Khurda (814), Cuttack (557), Jajpur (486), Gajapati (435) and Jagatsinghpur (281).
The death toll is also highest in Ganjam at 12. The virus has claimed five lives in Khurda and four in Cuttack.
