Konark: At least 22 people were injured, seven of them seriously, after being attacked by a jackal in Nasikeswar panchayat under Konark block of Odisha’s Puri district on Saturday.
The victims suffered serious injuries on their faces and bodies. They were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
The wild animal might have strayed into Khudurikana and Jirigana villages from a nearby forest in search of food, local people said.
Some of the injured were walking on the road while others were staying at their homes when the incident took place.
