Sambalpur: As many as 22 students of a tribal residential school have been hospitalised for complaint of dysentery and vomiting in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
As per reports, some students of Salohi Ashram School under Bamra block of the district had dysentery three days back. They recovered after undergoing treatment.
Subsequently, more students of the residential school complained of dysentery and vomiting. Total 22 students suffering from the illness have been admitted in primary health centre (PHC) at Kesaibahal. They are still undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Speaking to the media, sub-divisional medical officer of Kuchinda Subodh Nayak said the condition of the students under treatment was stable. While the exact cause of their illness has not been ascertained, it is suspected that they might have suffered from stomach upset due to food poisoning, he added.
