Berhampur: Twenty-two years after their marriage, a man allegedly killed his wife over a petty dispute in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
As per reports, Raju Muli and his wife Gitanjali Muli of Akhupadar village under Bhanjanagar police station were having frequent fight over some issue or other for some days. Of their two children, daughter died some time back, while the son is working outside the state.
On Saturday night, Raju asked Gitanjali to give him some money for some purpose. But she refused stating that there was no money in the house. Enraged over it, Raju hit his wife’s head with a sharp weapon.
After the villagers came to know about the incident, they informed the police. A police team from Bhanjanagar went to the village and found Gitanjali dead in a pool of blood. They sent to the body for post-mortem and took Raju to the police station.
The IIC of the police station Dhiresh Kumar Das said they have detained Raju and were questioning him. They have registered a case against Raju and further investigation is on, he added.
