Bhubaneswar: The annual training camp of the NCC, organised by 4(O) CTC at Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering of SOA in Odisha capital, concluded on Wednesday.
Total 230 cadets, belonging to both senior and junior divisions of NCC from different schools and colleges, attended the eight-day camp that was started on August 17. Four Associate NCC officers and 7 permanent instructors imparted training to the cadets.
During the camp, the trainees had a glimpse of the adventurous life of Army personnel and learnt foot drill, weapon drill, weapon use, yoga and firefighting. Lt Col Umesh Marwaha was the Commandant of the camp while Lt Col SP Otta was the Deputy Commandant.
The closing ceremony was addressed by Col Rajnish Kapoor, Group Commander of Cuttack Group who explained the aims and objectives of NCC and how such training can help the trainees join the defence forces. Prof PK Sahoo, Dean of ITER, spoke about the motto of NCC which promoted unity and discipline among the youth.
A blood donation camp was jointly organised by 4(O) CTC NCC and SOA in collaboration with the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate. Around 60 units of blood were collected in the camp.
The programme was coordinated by Associate NCC Officer Lt (Dr) Sachidananda Sahoo and Dr Satish Kumar Samal.
