Sambalpur: The Hirakud Dam authorities have opened 24 sluice gates of the reservoir to release floodwater.
The water level in the dam recorded was 625.31 feet against the optimal storage capacity of 630 feet.
The inflow and outflow of water were recorded at 3,74,612 cusecs/second and 4,26,000 cusecs/second, respectively.
