Bhadrak: Around 25 students of Sankarpur Urdu UGME School in Odisha’s Bhadrak district fell sick after having midday meals that allegedly had a dead lizard in it.
According to sources, the students complained of vomiting and nausea after a lizard was spotted at the bottom of the rice container on Monday. Following which, they were taken to district headquarters hospital and discharged after preliminary treatment. Their health condition is stated to be stable.
On being informed, Block Education Officer (BEO) Chakradhar Mallik reached the hospital and spoke to the students admitted there. “An investigation will be conducted into the matter and action will be taken against those responsible,” he added.
Notably, an organisation named Damodar Jew Sevayatan was entrusted with the responsibility of preparing midday meals for school.
