2nd Incident On NH 16: Wide Hole Created In Flyover In Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: In another bridge related incident on National Highway (NH) 16 in Odisha, a patch of a flyover caved in Bhadrak district on Tuesday.

As per reports, the locals spotted a wide hole on the shoulder of the flyover near Aradi in the district in the morning. Apprehending threat to the vehicles moving on the bridge, they informed the Highway Patrol.

After inspecting the portion of the flyover, which had caved in, the NH authorities set up barricades around the area to alert the vehicle drivers. The NH officials assured the locals of taking necessary steps to repair the flyover soon.

In the other incident on the day, a part of the bridge on NH 16, connecting Chennai with Kolkata, sank near Rasulpur in Jajpur district, disrupting vehicular movement on Bhubaneswar-Balasore route.

As several vehicles were stopped by the locals to prevent a disaster, police arrived at the spot and controlled vehicular movement on the NH between Panikoili and Chandikhole stretch. Hundreds of stranded vehicles were diverted to decongest the traffic on the stretch.
