Bhubaneswar: The second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination for the target group of frontline workers took off in Odisha on Saturday morning.
The frontline warriors including police officials, employees of collector office and municipality are taking the shots.
Odisha DGP Abhay was the first person to be inoculated on the first day of Phase-II vaccination programme. He took the vaccine at Cuttack Indoor Stadium. He also appealed to all to cooperate with the government to make the vaccination drive a success.
After taking the vaccine, Twin City Police Commissioner Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi tweeted:
Inspector general of police (operations) Amitabh Thakur also took the shot and tweeted:
DG, Fire Service, Dr Satyajit Mohanty was among the top police officers to take the shot early on the day.
Besides, IGP AN Sinha, IGP S Praveen Kumar, ADGP SK Priyadarshi, ADGP Lalit Das, and ADG Law and Order, YK Jethwa, among others have taken the shots.
