Nayagarh: Three persons were killed and another sustained critical injury in a head-on collision between two loaded trucks in Daspalla area of Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Saturday evening.
As per preliminary information, the mishap took place near Takara Chhak on Khurda-Balangir National Highway No. 57
Sources said the collision took place when the trucks were reportedly attempting to avoid a motorcycle. The impact was so severe that three victims died instantly at the site.
The injured person, along with the deceased, was rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Daspalla. The condition of the injured was stated to be critical.
On being informed, a police team immediately rushed to the site. Acting swiftly, the team secured the accident site, seized the bodies for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and a detailed investigation into the exact cause of the accident is in progress.
The bodies will be handed over to the families after the post-mortem scheduled for Sunday.
