Sundergarh: Three persons, including two women, died while one was critically injured in a road accident on Biju Expressway near Jarangloi village in Sundargarh district late on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Sajjan Agrawal, Urmila Devi and Nirmala Devi. The injured, Sangeeta Agrawal, has been admitted to Sundargarh district headquarters hospital and later shifted to Rourkela as her condition deteriorated.
All the four persons hail from Biramitrapur here in the district.
According to police sources, the four persons were on their way back from Sambalpur in a car after attending a cultural event when the driver rammed the vehicle into a truck, killing three on the spot.
The driver of the car fled soon after the accident.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.
