3 Killed, 12 Injured In Afghanistan’s Kandahar Suicide Bombing
Kandahar: Three persons were killed and 12 injured in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan’s Kandahar on Thursday, reported news agency AFP.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.
Several explosions have been reported around the country since the start of Ramadan on March 11, Taliban authorities that rule the country and have a stronghold on Kandahar for decades told AFP.
According to sources, the explosion that took place early morning on Thursday was targeted at a group of people who were waiting outside the New Kabul Bank branch in central Kandahar to collect their salaries,
“The situation is under control. The wounded people are not in serious condition,” Director of Information and Culture of Kandahar Province Inamullah Samangani told AFP.
It may be mentioned that Kabul is the official capital of Afghanistan but Kandahar is reportedly the de facto capital of Talibans as their supreme leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada is based in the city.
