Bargarh: Three persons were killed and two others sustained serious injuries after the car in which they were travelling rammed into the divider and overturned on the NH-53 bypass road in Odisha’s Bargarh district late on Thursday.
According to sources, the impact of the crash was so severe that the car was badly damaged, leaving the occupants trapped inside. Three among them died on the spot.
The deceased men were residents of Bargarh town. The injured were rescued from the mangled remains of the vehicle and shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
It is being suspected that the car was overspeeding when the driver lost control over it, leading to the accident which briefly halted traffic on the bypass.
Meanwhile, Bargarh Town police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
