3 Leaders From Odisha In BJP Manifesto Committee For Lok Sabha Elections
Bhubaneswar: Three senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Odisha have been made members to party’s manifesto committee for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the country.
BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday announced the 27-member manifesto committee of the party for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
While Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has been made the chairman of the BJP manifesto committee, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal are the convener and co-convener of the panel respectively.
Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Sundargarh MP & former Union Minister Jual Oram have been included in the BJP manifesto committee.
Notably, the BJP has fielded Dharmendra and Jual Oram from Sambalpur and Sundargarh Lok Sabha seats respectively in Odisha, while Vaishnaw was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state recently.
A firebrand tribal leader from Odisha, Jual Oram was a minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government at the Centre. He also served as a minister in Narendra Modi government from 2014 to 2019.
